Emerald Green Spring Village Hall DIY Vintage Feel Wedding -...

via

Oh I so love Spring and today's wedding just transports me there in an instant. Spring couples I hope this gets you excited for your own wedding day's...

Zoe and Jonathan were married on the 28th March in a Church ceremony followed by a quaint village hall reception in Dorset. The whole day was a real DIY affair with their nearest and dearest all getting involved to help. I especially love the idea of each tier of the wedding cake being made by a different family member, such a special touch.

There was an old fashioned feel to the day with traditional attire for the boys, deep emerald green dresses for the girls and Zoe in the chic Ingrid by Jenny Packham. Wow.

Esme Ducker Photography, thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous photographs with us.

THE PROPOSAL | In Verona by the river.

THE VISION | It was in March and in a Village Hall so we were not going for the 'beautiful setting' it was very much about just having a great party with our favourite people.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Just sort of happened, my Mum was amazing and extremely organised but it was a real team effort and Jonathan was as involved as both Mum and I in it.

THE VENUE | Leigh Village Hall, Dorset.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Jenny Packham Ingrid, crystal earrings no veil.

FINDING THE DRESS | I just went straight to Jenny Packham, hadn't tried anything on before or looked in any magazines and knew I needed to get the dress that day as I didn't have any other time to do it! I tried on 4 dresses that were a bit underwhelming, but as soon as I put my wedding dress on I knew it was the one for me. Even though it wasn't vintage

GROOM'S ATTIRE | He wore a morning suit, it was a newly made one though by a tailor friend of his - he looked snappy it's a great suit.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Song of Solomon and The Prophet.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Annie Wallington, Susan Tetlow, Lola Hamilton, Harriet Grew.

THE FLOWERS | Flowers by Rustic Rose in Sturminster Newton.

THE CAKE | Each tier was made by a different member of the Chidley Family (my in-laws).

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Esme Ducker.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | It was a real DIY effort, I found a company called 'Events Guru' to come from Southampton and dress the hall, essentially covering the roof with drapes and sorting out the lighting. Other than that we pretty much did the interior ourselves it had a green theme because it was in the spring!

THE HONEYMOON | We went to Chile.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | All of it, it was just the best day of my life.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy yourselves and don't take it too seriously, make sure you take full advantage of the greatest party you'll ever have!
