We are a nation obsessed with all things pumpkin. From our lattes to finding the "Great Pumpkin" in the middle of a pumpkin patch, we take our devotion to this fall staple very seriously. Autumn brides often love incorporating pumpkins into their decor and menu as a nod to the season. Here are some fantastic ideas for your own fall planning!

No matter whether you prefer your pumpkins plain or painted, you can do so much with them as a detail. Use them as a way to welcome guests to your fall farm wedding (below, left) or as the centerpiece for a vintage event (below, right).

Put all of that experience carving jack-o-lanterns to good use by DIYing your table numbers (below). If you don't want to use real pumpkins for this, there are several excellent craft foam versions that you can buy (that are surprisingly convincing).

Another easy DIY pumpkin project is a cool guest book. Purchase a ceramic or another craft foam pumpkin so that you don't eventually have to throw away. Paint it in a light neutral and top with a pretty wash of gold glitter. Use Sharpies in your wedding colors and you can tuck this sweet keepsake into your future fall decor in your new home.

Break out the gold paint and gather a gaggle of bridesmaids for some artsy fun with these metallic pumpkin ideas below. You can dip a large white gourd in copper paint and place it on a cake plate to jazz up your sweet table or use it to show off your monogram next to your escort cards.

Tiny, spray-painted pumpkins also make a lovely place to rest place cards or fill out colorful fall tablescapes.

Love the season, but not the traditional fall color palettes of oranges and browns? Paint your pumpkins in your own cheerful wedding colors and fill them with equally charming floral arrangements.

Illuminate your pathways or even your evening stroll down the aisle with pumpkin luminaries. More sophisticated than their funny-faced counterparts, these pumpkins feature all sorts of cool patterns. Again, you can do this with real pumpkins, or faux ones. Either way, we recommend using battery-powered tealights or white string lights instead of candles.

Of course, the best pumpkin details are the edible ones. Serve a yummy cream cheese and pumpkin roulade at your bridesmaid luncheon (above). For out of town guests, greet them at their hotel with homemade pumpkin spice latte cupcakes (below, left) or pumpkin sage scones with cherry jam (below, right).

For your reception, go with a traditional crowd pleaser like these mini-pumpkin pies topped with whipped cream.
