Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

In February 2013 I planned a spur of the moment trip to New York. I spent a week exploring as a single traveller. I met Tino, who was working there at the time, three days before I flew home. On my last night we made snow angels in Central Park, something which was quite spontaneous for an attorney and an accountant! Tino was only returning to South Africa 2 months later however, to my delight, when I arrived home, I already had an email from him counting down the days until he was going to return. I immediately knew that such a kind soul was what I had been looking for all the years.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

He proposed by tricking me into believing I had won a bet and that he, as the loser, had to take me away for the evening. He took me to a beautiful boutique hotel in Rosebank where we had dinner in a private courtyard and after dinner, he emerged from the hotel room carrying a photo book created by him which told our "love story" in pictures. He asked me to marry him and after phoning our very excited parents, spent the rest of the evening sharing our dreams for our life together.

The moment the Church doors opened and I saw the look on my husband's face!
