The Best Haircuts for Girls Who Hate Getting Their Hair Cut

Here at MDC, we are lucky enough to have a panel of experts to sound off on those topics that leave the everyday girl scratching her head. Today, for example, we asked hair guru Zachary Morad to sound off on the best haircuts for girls who hate cutting their hair.

Let's be honest, some of us just don't like getting a haircut. Whether it's due to our busy lives, a bad past experience or a general distaste for the process, some of us just choose to avoid the salon at all costs. While letting your hair grow out forever may seem like an ideal solution, it's also an unrealistic one. However, setting yourself up with the right haircut can help you stretch out the time in between those dreaded salon visits ... and keep your hair groomed and in good shape!

Layers and Layers

Oftentimes, ladies with long locks tend to sit in my chair and immediately request long layers. While this is always a safe choice and will help you sustain a long, flowing mane for quite some time, it's actually not the most long-lasting option! Adding some shorter layers throughout the top of your hair will not only add bounce and volume, but will also help you maintain some style and shape no matter how long you go in-between cuts. Removing the weight from the top layers of you hair will prevent it from falling flat, which is the first sign that it's time for a trim.

One Length

Layers not quite your style? Maybe your hair is very fine and layers make it feel too thin, or maybe your hair is too thick and layers are giving you a bit too much volume. Well, then I have the perfect low-maintenance cut for you! Blunt, one length hair is a very practical way to go if you aren't a fan of visiting the chop shop, but don't think of this as the same one-length look you had in the first grade! Nowadays, we are seeing many women rocking single-length hair in so many different ways! Whether it's a short, solid bob or seamless long locks with a strong face-framing angle, this look has more versatility than you think. A good tip for one-length hair is to make sure it remains strong and healthy to maximize the time in-between cuts, I always recommend a nourishing leave-in conditioner (like Redken Extreme Anti-Snap/Distressed Hair Treatment), as it will help prevent your ends from drying out or breaking!

Bangs

One of my absolute favorite ways to give my haircut-hating girls a great (that allows them to squeeze every last second out of their cut) is to recommend bangs. Bangs, may seem like they require a lot of attention, but, in reality, they don't! Bangs also allow for a fresh, interesting look, even if your mane is tied up in a ponytail. I like to create soft, wispy fringe, as it truly compliments every face shape and, as it grows out, can be worn to the side as a side-swept bang. Adding this to a layered haircut will allow you to grow your hair into a few different styles before returning to the chair!
