Building off last season's romantic and carefree aesthetic, designer Amsale Aberra brought softness and simplicity back to the runway with her Fall 2016 Christos collection. Reinforcing the line's timeless style, Aberra introduced an assortment of ethereal, featherweight gowns fashioned in tulle, silk chiffon and lace. Classic and elegant silhouettes stayed true to the collection's signature time-honoured designs, which boasted flowing sheaths, fit-and-flares and voluptuous ball gowns. Traditional looks were given a seductive twist with flirty lace paneling, low-cut necklines and off-the-shoulder sleeves. Dazzling crystal beading paired exquisitely with the line's lustrous fabrics, giving gowns added depth and dimension. Aberra's use of sheer layers and ornate décolletages also kept the collection modern and fresh without sacrificing the romantic, heirloom charm for which the Christos line is most famous. While each look proved equally as captivating as the last, Aberra's modern traditionalist vision truly bloomed in a show-stopping soft tulle ball gown, complete with a lace and silk chiffon panel bodice.
