Rustic Dusky Pink & Gold Picnic Marquee Wedding - Whimsical...

I am consistently blown away by the amazing couples that read these very pages, they are always so lovingly create and full of joy.

WWW readers Charlotte and Simon chose to marry on the 18th July 2015 and held their reception in a marquee in Charlotte's Mum and Dad's home in Kent. Not only did her parents lend their gorgeous home as the setting for the day but they also hired the car from the Darling Buds of May for the couple. Amaze.

Charlotte is bridal accessory designer ( My Fayre Favourite) and so not only did she design her own gorgeous accessories but she created her bridesmaids hair combs too. In fact much of their day was hand made, from the bridesmaid dresses to the table flowers and blackboard signs.

WWW Supplier Love member The Beauty Aisle beautified Charlotte, who wore a spectacular Sarah Seven gown and carried a divine bouquet by Frida and Sophia Floral Design. Gasp.

Jonny MP Photography, many thanks for sharing your outstanding images with us.

THE PROPOSAL | Having been together for 6 years I was perhaps, if I'm honest, waiting for a certain question. Whilst on holiday in Majorca, we went out for dinner and Simon suggested a walk home along the beach. I jumped at the chance! He got down on one knee and, amid lots of tears, I said yes!

THE VISION | I knew I wanted a rustic themed wedding as it would go so well with the surroundings at Mum and Dad's. It just took a while to persuade Simon that rusty copper pans would look good at a wedding! I knew there would be a lot of flowers and the colour scheme was gold and dusky pink. We also had a picnic meal - it took some effort to figure out the logistics, but it went down well with all the guests.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | As we decided to have the reception at Mum and Dad's it meant we had to do a lot of work to bring the whole thing together. We took it one step at a time. Being in the wedding industry myself I had a good idea of what suppliers I wanted to use. Particularly as I would now call a lot of them friends it was so nice to have familiar faces part of the wedding. Ellie from The Beauty Aisle did my make-up and Liz from Simply Beautiful Wedding Hair styled my hair. They were so good on the morning, so calm and relaxed. They were my dream team!

THE VENUE | We were very lucky to be able to have our reception at my Mum and Dad's home in Kent. They have a beautiful house with a great space for a marquee and plenty of room for milling around outside, and there's a beautiful view across the fields out the back. My Mum and Dad were amazing, they did so much to make the garden perfect for our wedding day. My Dad is very good at anything DIY and he did a lot of the wood work, making the cake stand, the garden games, the signs and our table names.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | My dress was just perfect for the occasion, not too formal, super comfortable and so so pretty. Months after the wedding it's hanging up at my Mum and Dad's, and I still go and look at it whenever I go round. As a bridal accessory designer and maker myself I was able to design and create exactly what I wanted. Gold was part of the colour scheme, so I used gold flowers in my belt and hair accessory adding to the rustic style of the day.

FINDING THE DRESS | It was important to me that I didn't have a dress that I had "seen" before. I knew exactly which boutique I wanted to go to (Froufrou Bridal boutique in Tunbridge Wells) and I was not disappointed. The dress I chose was in fact the first dress I tried on! As soon as I put on the dress by Sarah Seven I felt special. It was the one dress where I felt like me wearing it. Not dressing up like someone else, or feeling like the dress was wearing me! And the design was called Southern Comfort... My favourite drink! After that, nothing came close to the first dress.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Simon wore a 3 piece suit from Next. We wanted to spend the money wisely; we weren't keen on spending lots on hiring. We bought each groomsman a suit so they had something to keep afterwards. We made lots of phone calls to different branches across the country and constant website checks for different jacket sizes for groomsmen, it was a bit of a nightmare but well worth it! I think they looked rather splendid!

THE READINGS & MUSIC | I walked up the aisle to Ave Maria played on the violin and piano.

We are very lucky to have two good friends Katherine (bridesmaid) and Andy (usher) who were willing to sing and play the guitar in our wedding ceremony whilst we signed the register. It was so special and was one of the highlights of our wedding day. They played Yellow by Coldplay and Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. Our first dance was Time after Time by Cyndi Lauper.

Finding our readings was a very lengthy process, but so worth spending the time to find something that had the right sentiment. We chose Ruth 1:16-17 and Love by Roy Croft.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | All thanks to my wonderful Mum who made the bridesmaids dresses. I think they looked beautiful. I made each one a unique hair comb that tied in with my gold accessories, so they have something one of a kind to keep.

THE FLOWERS | I loved our flowers! Frida and Sophia are my heroes. I loved the bouquets they made for me and the bridesmaids, and the buttonholes were perfect. We met with them to discuss what we had in mind and they brought it to life perfectly. It was so exciting when they delivered the bouquets and buttonholes on the morning of the wedding.

We arranged the reception flowers ourselves to keep the costs down. We had flowers delivered at 7am the day before the wedding and one of my favourite parts of the set up was arranging all the flowers for the reception with my bridesmaids. Thank you beauteous bridesmaids!

THE CAKE | We had three tiers of plain iced cakes from Marks and Spencer, and my Mum's friend arranged beautiful fresh flowers around the cake. I loved how it looked placed on the log, floating on top of the flowers.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Jonny MP, the legend! He did my brother's wedding photos so we knew we were in safe hands. Jonny is a good family friend and we have admired his photography for a long time. He takes stunning pictures and we are so glad we had Jonny as our photographer. He was brilliant on the day, making everyone feel at ease in front of the camera and having a good laugh. And now we have a beautiful set of photos to remember the day, so many people have commented on how good our photos are. We couldn't recommend him enough!

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | I think I had the best 10 months of my life DIYing lots of things for our wedding, from the invites to the flower arrangements. I loved getting the ideas together. I wanted to avoid bunting in the marquee as I wanted something a bit different so made the flower wreaths, and twine swags with the help of my Mum and bridesmaids. I loved the overall look. My sister Amie did such a good job on all the blackboard signs dotted around. I enjoyed many a Monday with my sister making and crafting everything for our wedding. We are so grateful to our families and friends for all their help in the lead up to the wedding. The week before it was all-hands-on-deck to transform the garden into a wedding venue. It was so exciting seeing everything come together.

THE HONEYMOON | We went to Gocëk, Turkey for a week. We spent the week relaxing, and it was wonderful! We used Dawn Broome from Travel Consultants who helped with finding our dream honeymoon, we would highly recommend her services.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | My brother and sister in law were due to have a baby very close to our wedding day and we were worried that they wouldn't be able to join us. But it was so special to have the lovely little Felicity at ten days old join us to celebrate our wedding day. The speeches were all spot on and it was very emotional hearing my Dad's and Simon's speeches. We both agreed how much we enjoyed dancing the night away with our friends and family seeing everyone enjoying themselves.

My Mum and Dad had arranged our travel as a surprise. For months they were winding us up saying they had arranged a donkey. But incredibly they had booked the car from Darling Buds of May - a childhood favourite. I couldn't believe it!

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy it. Make the most of each part of the day. It goes by in a flash, I know everyone says that, but I was surprised how fast! Stay true to what you want your wedding to be and don't try to please others. That's what makes your day unique and special. And "let it go", if something doesn't turn out how you had planned, don't stress about it. There is always going to be something that isn't quite how you imagined.
