Alpine Winter Wedding Inspiration from Italy

Alpine Winter Wedding Inspiration from Italy

via

We like to pack a lot of punch into every post we share (we know your wedding planning time is precious guys!), and today's styled shoot is a triple whammy.

An engagement shoot, a winter wedding inspiration, and a honeymoon session all rolled into one, with the most enchanting backdrop of the Italian Alpine resort of Madonna di Campiglio.

It was photographed by Paola Colleoni and styled by Barbara Pederzini of Fatamadrina.

With chic après-ski style, romantic portraits, woodland decor, and a spectacular setting, there's a lot of creative inspiration packed in for anyone considering a destination winter wedding or a ski honeymoon (we love that idea!), or simply an engagement shoot in the snow.

Scroll down to see this romantic three part shoot, but first up, read a little more about it from stylist and planner, Barbara Pederzini of Fatamadrina ...

About the Shoot

The shoot tells the story of a couple from their engagement to their wedding day (ceremony and reception) through to their honeymoon. It was shot over two days last February in the Italian Brenta Dolomite Alps (a World Heritage Site). The bridal fashion was exclusively designed by young fashion designer Serena Poletto Ghella, who also styled it. The venue where the proposal and wedding are set is a real wedding venue, and the chalet where we shot the honeymoon is part of a splendid hotel which would be an ideal honeymoon destination.

The Engagement Shoot

The Wedding Day

We imagined a very modern couple, Max and Julia, who met on a sky trip in the Italian slopes. A year later he took her back for a week-end at the same location, and he proposed. On their wedding day they recited their vows in front of the breathtaking views. She carried a simple bouquet of white roses, pinecones and tiny white brooms.

The wedding meal was set up inside the Chalet Fiat, on simple wooden tables laid out with a custom mise-en-place. Vintage crockery and cutlery was paired with wooden chargers crafted by local artisans, while a number of vintage props were sourced from an antique shop in Madonna di Campiglio. Modern props were provided by the concept store Bianco (literally, 'white'), in Trento. The table was styled by Barbara with pinecones, white roses and white brooms, as well as calligraphy by Lamplighter London. The wedding cake was a locally produced apple strudel.

The Honeymoon

The day after we shot a honeymoon inspiration at the chalet of a local boutique hotel (which features a Michelin-starred restaurant). It was snowing heavily and the atmosphere of it was magical.

I've always loved the idea of a snowy wedding day, so magical and romantic!

Thanks so much to Paola Colleoni, Barbara Pederzini of Fatamadrina and the rest of their talented team for sharing this unique winter wedding inspiration with us.
