Melanie and Mikael met nine years ago at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, where she was a cafeteria worker and he worked in emergency. They fell in love at first sight, and after just one date, they knew they would be together forever. "I knew she was the love of my life," Mikael explains. "I still have the bill from our first date together with the words 'together forever' written on the back."

The couple held their wedding at the Musée de l'Amérique francophone in Quebec City, a stately building with a rich history. The day's elegant yet unpretentious vibe reflected the couple's personality perfectly. A pink, gold and black colour palette created a chic, romantic feel, while ivory accents kept the look simple and sophisticated. "The venue was decorated in elegant white floral arrangements filled with hydrangeas and accented with floating candlelight," Melanie says.

Before the ceremony, Melanie opened her wedding gift from Mikael. "I received a beautiful Tiffany & Co. bracelet with an inscription and a lovely note," Melanie says.

Along with the bracelet, Melanie wore an elegant gown from Galleria della Sposa. "One of my favourite details of the day was my magnificent dress. I also loved the flowers and the cake," she remembers.

The couple and their guests finished off the day with dinner, dancing and plenty of family time. "The wedding was an absolute dream, and to celebrate with all the guests and my family was wonderful," Melanie says.
