who gives us some pointers on how to achieve perfect glowing skin.

I love makeup. You love makeup. We all love makeup. And, behind every flawlessly painted face, lies a bare canvas. While some of us were blessed with perfect skin, many of us struggle with a skin issue of some sort: blemishes, breakouts, redness, dryness, etc. However, that doesn't mean we can't all rock the biggest makeup trend of the season: glowing skin. Check out my tips on how to get a naturally radiant complexion.

A Consistent Skincare Regimen

Achieving a beautiful, natural glow should start from within. So, in addition to great makeup products, your daily skincare regimen is very important. And, remember, consistency is key. The types of products you use can really assist in maintaining a healthy glow. Your basic routine should consist of cleanser, exfoliant, moisturizer, night cream and sunscreen. Above all, or rather, below all, don't neglect your neck! Your neck and décolleté are true indicators of age and skin health, so make sure you work your skincare products past the jawline!

When choosing a cleanser, make sure you find a formula that thoroughly cleanses your face, without leaving it feeling tight and dry. This goes for oily complexions, too, as you don't want your skin to feel parched. Exfoliating is another important part of the glow-getting process, as it can remove the buildup of dead skin cells. I love to use an exfoliating scrub once a week. It's best to use a product that is ultra-fine in texture (try Kiehl's Pineapple Papaya Facial Scrub) - you don't want something too abrasive as it can damage the skin.

Once you have a simple and effective skincare regimen down, you can move on to focusing on makeup to enhance your already glowing skin.

A Solid Foundation

Product Recommendations: Maybelline Face Studio Master Prime, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation or Product Recommendations: Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer, Product Recommendations: NYX Makeup Setting Spray - Dewy, Urban Decay Chill Cooling and Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray YSL Touche Éclat, L'Oréal Paris Magic Lumi Highlighting Concealer Lasting Silk UV Foundation SPF 20

First off, use a primer to create an even surface for your foundation. Follow up with foundation and concealer. Since you're going for a dewy look, avoid a matte foundation and opt instead for one with a satin or illuminating finish. And, if you refuse to wear anything but your go-to matte formula, try this little trick to give your skin a glow boost.

Blend, Blend, Blend

Whether you're sticking to a foundation-only look or going for full-throttle glow, blending is key. It's your ticket to creating a skin-like finish so your complexion looks naturally radiant. An ideal makeup look is one in which nobody can see where it starts or where it finishes.

Strategically Placed Highlighter

By now, we all know the significance of highlighter in achieving illuminated skin ( strobing, anyone?). But, many are still not sure on where exactly it should go. After setting your makeup, apply a liquid-based highlighter along the top of the cheekbones, brow bone and bridge of the nose to accentuate the shape of your face and add a little glow. In addition to highlighter, swiping on a bit of bronzer can also help in making your face really shine (in a good way).

Setting Spray

If you find you've laid on the foundation a bit thick, try using a setting spray and a foundation brush to buff the makeup into your skin. This will help get rid of the cakey effect and lend a dewy finish to your face. It will also set your makeup so it lasts longer and won't smudge throughout the day!
