Intimate Queenstown Wedding - Polka Dot Bride

Intimate Queenstown Wedding - Polka Dot Bride

via

There is no doubt New Zealand makes for an incredible wedding location, so Sigourney and Karl's intimate Queenstown wedding was always going to be beautiful. The joy during the speeches, the look of pride on Sigourney's grandfather's face as he walks her down the aisle and the beautiful photography by Jim Pollard Goes Click that captured it all.

Sigourney sets the scene with the story of how she and Karl came to be. "We met in a supermarket, less than a week after I arrived back to NZ from living in the US. I was promoting a new chocolate and he was picking up some things. He tried my chocolate and we got to chatting briefly and then he left, 2 minutes later he came back and asked my name and then my for phone number (I NEVER give out my number, except for that one occasion) Which he thought both were fake!!

We talked everyday after that, even while he was away in Queenstown skiing with his dad. The day his returned home, he took me out for our first date (my first date ever) and it was a complete disaster!! I was so nervous! We ended up talking on the Auckland's water front till 1am. He was a complete gentleman. I was sure once he dropped me home we wouldn't see each other again. I was wrong - 20 minutes after getting home he texted me, we saw each other everyday for the next week, and we made it official.

We went to Queenstown for our one year anniversary, where Karl proposed! Two years later to the day we tied the knot in Queenstown. 26th of August is our very special day."

Sigourney wore a lace wedding dress by Stella York.

The couple were married by Karl's father.

The bride was walked down the aisle by her grandfather to the traditional bridal march. She notes, "I loved having my Grandad walk me down the aisle, like we promised some years ago when he was very, very ill."

Sigourney and Karl chose Stoneridge Estate as their wedding venue, noting, "We had no intention on getting married in Queenstown, until we found Stoneridge online. From that point on we were hooked! Everything else seemed to fall into place after that. The setting of our day was so much better than I ever could of dreamt."

Of their photograoher, Sigourney notes, "Jim is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! He captured everything we could have ever wanted. He was so laid back and made everything so simple and effortless. He even handled his own when it came to one very rude bridesmaid!"

Congratulations on your marriage Sigourney and Karl! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Jim Pollard Goes Click for sharing today's celebration!
