Festival Brides Love: Revelry Events & The Travelling Barn Company

Morning, you guys!

We have a double whammy for you this morning... I know, don't say we never treat you nice, hey?!

Not only are we hanging out with the fabulous gals over at Revelry Events, but we're also introducing you guys to the incredible Travelling Barn Company ...

Yes, you heard me right. A barn. That travels.

(My mind was a little blown too!)

So I'm not gonna waste any time with my words, because this pair of fantastic companies really do speak for themselves, but if you're looking for a hand coordinating and styling your incredible wedding, or for a truly alternative venue, y'all need to keep on scrolling!

So, first up in today's post, the incredible Revelry Events ...

We're Revelry Events and we're all about rulebook-free weddings. We love weddings that don't fit the normal conventions, that capture your personalities and most of all, ones where everyone has a rollickingly good time! We're based in London but travel all over the UK and overseas for our nearly-weds. Revelry Events is also more commonly known to our friends and family as Holly and Susannah.

Susannah: I'm originally a northern lass from Sheffield but I've lived in London for 10 years working in PR and events. I changed careers into wedding planning after realising that I'd get much more satisfaction organising weddings for people than events for brands. I was right!

Holly: I'm a London girl through and through, and I'm currently living in Greenwich with my husband and 1-year-old daughter. Wedding planning was genuinely my childhood career choice. I knew very young it's what I wanted to do, so I learned everything I could through my teens about what it meant to be a planner. Spending my teenage summers shadowing events teams, tearing out pages of wedding magazines, reading articles on how to become a planner - I was a girl obsessed. I started planning weddings for friends of friends straight out of university until Revelry became what it is today. Livin' the dream right now!

Susannah: Coachella for sure, but mostly because I'm convinced I'd make friends with all the celebrities that go and suddenly develop some sort of cool Boho style. The reality is more likely to be me drinking cider, wearing practical clothes and keeping my pasty skin out of the sun. Perhaps not quite as instagram worthy!

Holly: I would love to go to South by Southwest in Austin - it's music but it's also film and tech. All the cool nerds go to SXSW...

Because we're different. We're always seeking out the new, the innovative, the unique. We always want to be bringing something fresh to the industry and show soon-to-be brides and grooms that they can break the rules and do weddings their way.

We take out all the legwork, stress and time consuming parts out of planning a wedding and leave you with the decisions so that the day is still yours but it hasn't taken over your life to plan it. I think we also add peace of mind to the day, not only because we're there to make sure it runs smoothly but because we know the industry so we can recommend suppliers that won't let you down.

We tend to do bespoke quotes for people based on their requirements but the common myth is that wedding planning is for the rich and its not. Our prices are pretty reasonable, even if we do say so ourselves, and we also offer what we call Pay as you Plan where you pay by the hour. You could pay for two hours venue desk research and you'd get a shortlist of venues that match your criteria which would have taken you a lot longer to pull together on your own.

Whatever they needed! We're not one-size-fits-all planners because we know there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all wedding. We work extremely hard to make sure you get the wedding you want that reflects your personality and your dream day. We're big advocates for throwing out the rulebook when it comes to designing your wedding, and we love coming up with new ideas to make that happen.

We're also nice and we think that's a pretty good trait.

Do your research. Check them out thoroughly. There are loads of great suppliers out there but there are horror stories of things going wrong or people being let down so do look into suppliers properly. A good rule of thumb is to always get three quotes. It at least helps you get a feel for what you should be getting for your money as budget is so often a driving factor behind supplier choices.

Susannah: If you don't ask you don't get!

Holly: Good things come to those who hustle...

Just gorgeous, gorgeous work from Revelry!

The images show just how versatile this awesome company is too, from bright tropics effortless into rich plum luxe... These gals know how to plan and style!

And now, about that Travelling Barn I mentioned earlier...

We are the Travelling Barn Company - a group of heritage timber framers, canvas stitchers and truck drivers! Many moons ago, after programming wonderful folk bands and barn dances at many UK festivals, we had a crazy idea - Since we do barn dances, can we not do them in a barn at a festival? The answer turned out to be yes, and the Travelling Barn was built. We had no idea whether it would catch on, but it has. We now spend our summers touring the UK festivals putting up our barn and watching thousands of people dance all weekend. We have also hosted weddings in our barn, and it makes a lovely for a wedding venue.

We already go to them all! The Travelling Barn is and has been at Glastonbury Festival, Glade Festival, Secret Garden Party, Wilderness Festival, Festival No.6 TreeFest, Ramblin' Man Fair, Somersault Festival, Fire in the Mountain, Bestival, Camp Bestival, Common People, Just So Festival, and Shambala.

There are too many tents with aluminium that all look the same. We wanted something honest and traditional, rustic and authentic.

We tour the country setting up our lovely Timber Framed Barn, built using traditional techniques and tools.

They could expect an authentic, unique one of a kind wedding venue. They could have their own barn wherever they wanted it!

It's not always about glossy websites and big companies. It's good to work with and support small companies too.

Insanely cool, isn't it?!

You can find both Revelry Events and the Travelling Barn in our directory now! Drop them a line and happy wedding planning!

Peace + Love
