Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

We met early in 2002 when we both started at the same high school - yes, this is a high school sweet heart love story;). As the years progressed, our 2 circles of friends slowly became 1 and the two of us became very good friends, accompanying each other to school dances, going on school tours together; just enjoying each others company. Our friends obviously saw something we hadn't yet noticed and convinced us that we would make a good couple. Eventually Mark asked me 'to go out with him' in late 2005 (that's how we made things official back in the days before Facebook). And that is where our adventures began.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

In 2012, after I had had a tough year interning, Mark booked us a holiday to Kenya (he had been saving for this during his 1st year of work). We packed and off we went. The holiday was simply beautiful! Some of my friends had planted the seed that Mark might propose and I thought if it were to happen, it would be New Years Eve. Needless to say New Years Eve came and went. I didn't even give it a second thought. However, on the 2nd of Jan 2013, Mark woke me up early to go watch the sunrise over the sea and popped the question then. Many tears later and a beautiful day cruising out at sea after that - it was sheer perfection!

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

There were too many! The night before our wedding was filled with such special moments. Although a little non-traditional, we stayed together the night before our wedding in our home, both waking up with excitement in the middle of the night. We made Milo and just chatted about all the adventures we had been on over the past 10 years and how our wedding day was going to be the start of many more.

Driving to the venue together singing at the top of our lungs was also one for the record books. Saying our vows to one another was a cherry on top of course - even though there were many tears from both of us. Then for me, three personal favourites were, getting ready with my Mom, my father-daughter dance with my Dad and listening to Mark's speech. And of course having all our family together under one roof and dancing the night away with those friends that convinced us to start dating in the first place.

I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day

"The most unforgettable day to mark the start of our new adventures together, shared with our closest friends and family, where you could feel the love".

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

Savour the moments on your wedding day. Enjoy the food, enjoy the wine and dance! Most importantly, enjoy the time with your hubby. Mark and I did our couple shoot away from our venue and this was a nice time to simply be with each other and reflect on what just happened - we got married!
