Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

We were introduced at a Christian meeting at the school where I teach, but after that, NOTHING happened. So it was not love at first sight. It was only when I joined a cell-group (at the church where Björn works) a few months later that we met up again.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

I mentioned, before we even dated, that if someone ever proposed to me on Bloubergstrand, I would definitely say yes! Well, he remembered that! A few months later we went on our December holiday. Our flight to Cape Town was delayed by four hours, and so, unbeknown to me, he had to postpone his plans to the following day. It was a perfect Blouberg-sunset and a huge surprise! Once I had established that he had already got my dad's blessing, it was a definite YES!

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Walking down the aisle next to my dad, with the love of my life waiting at the end, was definitely a highlight. We also worshipped together and had communion. The service was wonderful. We had lots of fun at the photoshoot and a special opening dance. The reception was held in the hall where we met, so that made it extra special.

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

Don't listen to too many people. Don't look at too many pictures. It will drive you crazy. Make a decision and stick to it! And yes, it is possible to organise your dream wedding in 4 months.
Don't stress about things you cannot change. I stepped onto my dress during the opening dance and the seam tore on the side. I ripped off the piece and had the best night ever, in my "redesigned" dress. So, don't sweat the small stuff!
