This wedding starts with two young hearts deeply in love. Surrounded by the beautiful nature of Vivere Country House while the details of soft greens, whites and a touch of silver showed that this day is the start of a new beginning together.

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

We went to school in two different provinces. One lived in the Free State and the other in Gauteng. Our schools had an athletic event in the free-state and that is where we met. Both of us loving sports!! So ideal!! But, this was at the age of 17. No signs of romance. We stayed in contact, we saw each other every now and then....and then he decided to come and visit out of the blue and all of a sudden we were grown up, different people from when we were 17 and at the age of 25 we just couldn't get enough of each other. We became best friends and fell madly in love.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

Well ... to be honest, she helped design the ring cause she will be the one wearing it for THE REST of her life!! But she had no idea when it will be finished. I on the other hand had a perfectly romantic (surprise) proposal planned...and then I got the ring two days earlier than expected and could not keep it to myself any longer. I got candles, good wine, good food and asked her to marry me at home in my living room.

On the night before our wedding day the area was blessed with an enormous rainstorm (this in times of drought while we were all praying for rain), but our nerves where shattered. We have planned an outside wedding. When I say outside, I mean NO plan B!!! The service was to be between Zebras and Reindeer and the dance floor was outside on wooden deck under the stars, surrounded by a body of water - with no inside options. Our day was filled with people we loved and cared about. All of this was our dream! Every part of our God-given day worked out perfectly.

We set the tables inside and a comfortable setting with couches outdoors where our guests were able to relax and have a good time surrounded by water and the ambiance of nature. It felt like our own little private nature reserve. All of this in the heart of Pretoria. Our promise to each other and our Father went together with an unforgettable day. It was a feast! Our dearest parents and sisters helped with everything. Even the flowers was planted in their gardens, loved for months and then hand picked for the wedding; a personal and special touch. A beautiful symbol of two families becoming one.
