The Glossy Eyelid Gets a Makeover
The Glossy Eyelid Gets a Makeover

The '90s are back in a big, big way. From the return of Mom jeans, to tattoo chokers, platform sneakers, brown lipstick and now, the glossy eyelid-we're reveling in this retrospective.
And because the glossy eyelid trend is making its way from runway to everyday, we asked pro makeup artist Diana Alba to recreate this look so you can get glossy, too. Grab some lid lacquer and step into our time machine ...
Step 1: Apply Eye Makeup Primer
For long-lasting wear, apply an eye makeup primer to your eyelids.
Step 2: Apply Liquid Eyeliner
Using a black, felt-tip liquid liner, thinly line the upper eyelids.
Step 3: Mix Gloss & Eye Shadow
On the back of your hand, mix a lid gloss with a loose, pigmented eye shadow powder. We used NYX Cosmetics Lid Lacquer and Loose Pearl Eye Shadow.
Step 4. Apply the Mixture
Apply the mixture by pressing-or dabbing-it onto your eyelids with your fingers.
Step 5: Line the Bottom Lashline
Line the bottom lash line with an aubergine metallic eyeliner pencil or pressed eye shadow. For more impact, fill in the waterline with a darker metallic eye pencil. We recommend Lancôme Artliner in Aubergine, Urban Decay Liquid Moondust in Magnetic
Step 6: Apply Highlighter
To brighten the eye area, highlight the inner corners of the eyes using a liquid illuminating pen. Then brush away any fallout from the shadow and apply concealer to the lower eye area.
Step 7: Apply Mascara
To complete the look, apply a thin coat of mascara to both your top and bottom lashes.
