Who doesn't love a fabulous burst of colour on a spring weekend? That is exactly what Meryll and Generic's vibrant theme park engagement has in store for us today - bright hues, a fun filled venue, and those lingering looks of a couple so very much in love. Generic said it was love at first sight, of their meeting at their university library. "He was looking for a spare seat, which happened to be beside me," remembers Meryll. "He spoke in Filipino, which I recognised, and so the conversation started and the rest was history..."

For their engagement photos, the couple chose a theme park on the Gold Coast in Queensland. "We wanted something different from what we usually see, and felt the theme park would best describe our relationship - full of thrill, excitement, colour, laughter and happiness," Meryll explains.

"Gen and I were on holiday at the Gold Coast, and Gen asked me to go for a walk along the beach. I know how much he loves the sea breeze, so I said yes. He had also promised me that we are going to go shopping at Harbour Town (yes, I am a shopaholic!), so I said let's walk for a little bit, and then go to the shops. We were strolling when he grabbed a stick and started writing in the sand. I was getting a little bit annoyed with him, because I thought he was just messing around and didn't want me to go shopping. Then he dropped the stick, stood up and said to me, "I have a question." I said "Can you ask me in the car because we have to hurry up!" Then he said, "Will you marry me?" I responded "Don't play tricks on me, because I want to go to the shop." So he pulled out the ring, and I was speechless. Of course I said yes and, not surprisingly, we never quite made it to the shops!"

Of what he loves about Meryll, Generic says, "I love so many things about Meryll, but my two favourite things are how strong she is and how she looks at me with so much love." And Meryll loves how faithful and trustworthy Gen is. "And he makes me feel special everyday..."
