When the bride changes dresses three times during the day, you know that she's really keen on details + all things pretty! Inspired by nature, the Roaring Twenties, and rock 'n' roll, the day was a joyful celebration of the couple's love, their child, and all of their loved ones! The vision for the day focused around an ethereal bohemian-inspired style, complete with English garden florals - nothing too structured, soft flowing blooms and fabrics. Firefly Events helped make it come to fruition, along with florist, Saipua, who really made it a garden party!

The bride shares with us It was the party of our lives. Even though we had about 200 guests, we wanted them to feel as though they were taking part in an intimate gathering where everyone could fully relax, unwind and enjoy themselves. We originally considered a North Carolina mountain wedding (where my husband is from), but we couldn't find a venue that seemed right. One summer weekend we were in Montauk, which we visit often, and we realized everything we wanted was right there, at Sole East. Montauk is a place of saltwater and sand dunes and magical coastal light.

Happy Menocal designed a custom wedding crest - a delicate wreath of roses, daisies and stars with a butterfly and a guitar, all encircling an initialed banner with a tiny bumblebee on top.

Three of the four dresses were by Claire Pettibone - the Ceylon for clambake, The Raven for welcome hour, The Angelica for ceremony- and one Sarah Seven dress for the reception.

That aisle... Major heart eyes!!

The bride shares Our wedding was essentially a garden party by the sea. We were married under a wild cherry tree standing amidst a circle of scattered rose petals.

Groom:

Bride:
Walking up to the crowded hotel bar at the end of the night. It was raining and my gown (the reception dress - Violet Hour by Sarah Seven) was trailing through the mud. I had just put our son to sleep, I found my husband, downed a tequila shot, and finally felt relaxed and free! In all seriousness, there were many memorable moments, but the best one was the overwhelming and beautiful sight of almost everyone we loved celebrating on the lawn that afternoon.

There was a sailcloth tent from American Tent Company with wooden poles and another children's tent... We had no bridal party or groomsmen; instead, we had ten flower girls, ages two to nine, that were all family members or friends' children. Our 19 month-old son served as ring bearer.

The reception table names were all '60s rock bands: The Rascals (the kids' table), The Zombies (parents who chose to have their kids sit with them), The Who, The Kinks, The Beatles + more!

Nine Cakes + Almondine Bakery created a decadent spread of sweets.

Start early, hire a wedding planner (especially if you're a perfectionist), channel your inner French girl (embrace the allure of mystery), and stay true. We were engaged for over two years, so we had a lot of time to plan. But in the middle of that we had a baby and suddenly time started passing at the speed of light. We made the big decisions early on (where, when, who) which I highly recommend. At the very minimum, consider hiring a day-of coordinator so you can fully relax and enjoy your wedding day completely. Keeping the vast majority of our plans private helped us stay calm and focused while planning and also prevented well intentioned, but stressful unsolicited advice. It made for a memorable weekend full of unfolding surprises for our guests. We basically kept everything under wraps and the result was that everything felt extra-exciting and special.

The bride shares, Most of all, stay true to yourselves and do what is best for the two of you. These days there are no rules. Your wedding should be a true reflection of you. We couldn't agree more!! Congrats, you two!
