BEAUTIFUL DESTINATIONS

Captured by @emerictimelapse, the plum-hued evening sky above Los Angeles became the canvas for a dazzling array of colors over the weekend as SpaceX's Falcon 9 took flight from Vandenberg Air Force Base. The Falcon 9 is part of a family of rockets created to promote reliable and safe transport of satellites through revolutionized space technology. The primary goal of this launch was to boost Argentina's SAOCOM 1A satellite into an orbit around the Earth's poles to study soil moisture, which is a key indicator of crop yields, droughts, and floods. This information will help scientists monitor the state of our environment, and to better determine ways to lessen potential negative impacts on it.
