Wedding Forward™

REAL PROPOSAL: "As soon as I found out Paruul was going to be in Paris for work, I knew that was where I was going to propose to her. She wanted me to come with her, but I was adamant that I couldn't make it. With the help of amazing friends, we set up a fake photoshoot for her and Mallika (who crashed with her on pretense of having extra vacation days and airline miles) on 2/11. That morning, as they arrived for their awkward "friend photoshoot" at the Trocadero. Srujan and I were waiting below the stairs. As they took photos, the photographer handed her a card that included some short letters that she had written to me about things she wanted us to do in the future, including, of course visting Paris and kissing under the iconic Eiffel Tower. As soon as she had the card, she knew I was in Paris...and as she fumbled with the card in nervous excitement, I walked up the stairs behind her with the ring in hand, and the rest is history. Shortly after, the second, perhaps even bigger surprise, was that our friends were waiting for us at a restaurant in Paris to celebrate this new chapter in our lives. She had no idea that some of our closest friends had been in Paris all weekend, on a social media blackout, with some nearly close encounters to boot. The rest of the day was spent soaking in the unbelievable day, drinking and eating and celebrating with friends all around Paris."
