We embrace tradition.⁠ ⁠ We're not really sure when or how, but somewhere along the way, tradition became a dirty word when it comes to weddings. If you're traditional, it's somehow inferred that you are boring, that you're dated, and oh yeah you're probably uncool. But let's be real here, a wedding itself is not something that is necessary- a wedding itself is an act of tradition. Walking down the aisle? Tradition. A first dance? Tradition. Carrying a bouquet? Tradition.⁠ ⁠ Here's the thing, tradition in itself is not a bad thing. But all those traditions that you hate, can't see the point of- doing those anyway? That's where we think the line needs to be drawn and where tradition shaming comes from. There is a lot of beauty, a lot of grace in honouring those who have gone before and doing things in a similar way. Your challenge is to understand and resonate with the traditions you do undertake and ditch those that just don't work for you. There are no rules about what a wedding should be but the ones you set- do it your way, make it yours.⁠ ⁠ Tradition isn't about being reminded of who you aren't, but rather a celebration of all the parts that make up who you are.
