Polka Dot Bride

When we work with advertisers on Polka Dot Bride, we have a few key things we just won't accept.⁠ ⁠ You see, while we aren't invitation only (something we might share our why on one day soon) we do have certain restrictions. One of them, that we've held since day dot, that is really important to us, is to not work with companies who are targeting couples to lose weight, or get cosmetic surgery. Additionally, we don't run any editorial around those subjects either.⁠ ⁠ It's natural to want to look "better" on your wedding day, and if you're partaking in any of the above, more power to you, there is no judgement here. But we're of the opinion that you don't need to change yourself, any part, especially your appearance for your wedding day.⁠ Akin to the societal messaging that continually tells us we need to lose weight to be loved, or get a nose job to be perfect, we're opting out. The message of weddings and weight loss has gone hand in hand for many years, and we're not buying into it.⁠ ⁠ On your wedding day, we want you to feel as beautiful or as handsome just as you are. We don't want to add a caveat of "oh but maybe you could just lose a few kilos and then you'd be perfect ". You will be the star of the show, and have the best day because you're you.
