The album design process has always given me this subconscious feedback about what is truly important, what gets printed for the historical record and what will be grabbed when someone’s grabbing their most precious belongings. And in a time when screens rule, what surprises me (and delights me) after a dozen years at this, is year after year my clients continue to commission traditional, custom albums. I mostly turn to @priscillafosterhandmade, a creative bookbinder in Montana as my album spirit guide who crafts these heirlooms. I’m working on albums this spring if anyone out there has cleaned every inch of their house, watched all of Netflix and wants to dive into the album design process with me...we can do it all, ironically, with screens.
