Want to know why the vendors we recommend aren’t “approved” or invitation-only?⁠ ⁠ Once upon a time, I kicked off a launch into the wedding world with a dodgy looking logo, & a website I whacked together one night by Googling. It wasn’t the best looking thing out there, but it didn’t change what I did, or our passion & love for it. To be honest? I really would have loved someone giving us a go. ⁠ ⁠ We’re not really into the idea of turning baby businesses away. Who may not have a lot of dollars or time to spend on branding, who may not have figured out how to get pro-level shots of their work yet, & who may be a dab hand at your wedding, but not so dab with tech.⁠ ⁠ Some of the brands on our site? They were there when photo editing was orange. When wedding stories told online were so not a thing (“why would I advertise with you when your website changes every day?” they said). And we welcomed them then & we will welcome them with or without fancy pants branding & schimko looking websites too.⁠ ⁠ On Polka Dot Bride? You will find wedding pros at all stages, all ages of the game. They may be brand new, they may have been doing this for 10 years. But my goodness they love what they do, & they’re good at it. They’re kind, they’re talented & they so want to meet you. We know experience is golden, but we know everyone has to start somewhere. But just because it’s someone’s second or third wedding, or just because they haven’t made it big on Insta, doesn’t mean they’re not fabulous and doesn’t mean they’re any less worthy of your booking.⁠ ⁠ Oh and if you think this means our standards are low, we have quality criteria- we for one, won’t accept advertising from any cosmetic surgery places (you don’t need to change yourself for your wedding day) and we won’t accept those places that take photos of our beloved Aussie designer gowns and remake them, in awful ways. Because our industry here is really darn important to us.⁠ ⁠ So whether you are a bride, or a groom, or a vendor.
