Master the accordian napkin fold in 6 easy steps (perfect for a wedding, dinner party, etc.)

The perfectly folded napkin is so often the cherry on the sundae of a dining table, and we always take special care to ensure that it is of great quality. After all, it is the one thing that stays with you the entire night of a dining celebration, right?

Creating a special fold, though, does not have to mean an elaborate "swan" stuffed into a wine glass. Rather, we are dubbing the elegant fold below the "Accordion," and lain on a face plate, it hosts a place card by the ever chic stationer Conner.

Step 1: Fold a square napkin in half.

Step 2: Fold in half again.

Step 3: Fold top edge back (to the left) about 1".

Step 4: Fold to the left again leaving about 1" of the bottom layer exposed.

Step 5: Fold bottom layer to the left at about an inch.

Step 6: Fold again to the left leaving about 1" of the fold underneath exposed. Ta-dah! You're done!

In 2006, we released our first foray into napkin folding with the book Napkins With a Twist (Artisan Books). Ever since, our napkin folding hands and hearts have not been idle. For another new one, check out the "Checkerboard," and cheers! We hope you have the best dinner parties ever!
