Hope everyone had great St Patrick's Day! Today we're going to stay on theme and concentrate on our capital city: as you may or may not know, Dublin has an absolute wealth of wedding venues in all shapes and sizes. For simplicity's sake today we're going to narrow it down a little concentrate on three really elegant buildings. Each of these are in the heart of the city, with the first being a touch more modern and the second two with a more "old world" feel.

Located on Harcourt Street close to St Stephen's Green and the Grafton Street area, the Dean Hotel is rather a hidden gem- we only came across it ourselves fairly recently. The beautiful "Blue Room" on the first floor makes the perfect setting for a long wedding table and really, the space does not need much embellishment at all to look incredibly elegant. Celebrations from 50 up to 120 guests can be held here, and there's a modern edge to the elegant decor that we absolutely love.

Situated in the heart of Dublin overlooking St Stephen's Green, the Hibernian Club is an elegant 18th century Georgian building which hosts exclusively one wedding per day. Celebration here are mostly intimate, ranging from 30 to 96 guests. The decor includes beautifully detailed plasterwork and original paintings. The Club has 12 bedrooms on site which can host the bridal party and a few extra, while the rest of the guests will have their choice of city centre accommodation within walking distance.

Upmarket with a Renaissance feel, this mansion was built originally as a Georgian home and can be rented exclusively for weddings. Located overlooking the river Liffey, it's literally a stone's throw from the central Ha'penny Bridge which joins the north and south sides of Dublin city, and inside there's a cozy yet glamourous feel to the decor. 10 Ormond Quay caters for up to 80 seated in the grand dining room, or up to 250 for drinks and a light supper.
