A Colourful Vintage Fair Engagement

A Colourful Vintage Fair Engagement

Afternoon lovelies, i think it’s high time for another love story, don’t you?

I actually met bride to be Lou earlier in the year at Tie The Knot as she is a talented baker and runs A Little Piece of Cupcake. So i am over the moon to be sharing her gorgeous engagement shoot today.

Lou and Ben first met at school, and 4 years later bumped into one another. Fast forward and they are planning a Mexican theme wedding (which sounds amazing!) and so headed out to a vintage fair for their engagement.

I so love these sweet, colourful and fun images,

Thanks so much to the fabulous Binky Nixon for sharing her photographs with us today.

Lou told me; “Ben and I went to the same school, he was in the year above me at school and was my major crush! Embarrassingly if you went to our school now you’d probably still find “I love ben i.d.s.t ” on all the tables!! On his last day of school after singing me his rendition of bill medleys I’ve had the time of my life we finally shared a kiss. Nearly four years later we bumped into each other on a night out and the rest is history!”

“We got engaged in Goa in December 2012, it was so special, on a rickety bridge over a lake, with both his hands held into fists, he told me to choose a hand- Ben is a bit of a pranker, and always tries to scare me so i was a bit worried as it would probably be a cockroach or something horrid, but no, he got down on one knee and proposed! It was such a surprise ! We kissed and turned around to be greeted by an explosion of fireworks- that Ben had not organised, it was just perfect timing.”

“It took quite a while to choose where to have our shoot, we didn’t want to do it in an open field or anywhere too empty as Ben was quite shy so we wanted somewhere busy with props. I also saw a Notebook inspired shoot here on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, its my favourite movie, and thought that would be a good idea- and then we came up with the vintage fair! We had so much fun and we all felt very sick after going on one ride! It was a great day out!”

“Ben and I could not think of having another photographer but Binky, she is truly amazing and her natural style photography is exactly what we wanted, she makes you feel totally at ease and the end result is everything you could dream of, and some!, I would totally recommend an engagement shoot too as we were both quite nervous about being in front of the camera, so it was a great warm up before the big day! Plus we got some beautiful piccys!”

“We are getting married in September next year, at a gorgeous venue in Buckinghamshire. We are having a pastel coloured Mexican theme! A yummy taco truck, piñatas and lots of tequila!!!!”

Thanks so so much for sharing guys. And wow i cannot wait to see your wedding already :-) XOXO Lou
