Elegant Sydney Harbor Wedding: Kat + Seb

via

Kat + Seb have been together for quite some time (13 years!) and have always been very content in their commitment. So when they finally decided to tie the knot, the most important thing to them was to bring together their families, who are scattered all over the world. They kept things simple, letting the beautiful Sydney harbor and their lovingly selected food + wine speak for itself. This allowed them to truly enjoy the company of their loved ones and each other. Kat + Seb really wanted to make sure that their family + friends were absolutely spoiled from the very first moment arriving on Clarke Island – so guests were greeted with glasses of champagne, served beautiful canapes, and treated to an a la carte menu from their favorite restaurant. It’s evident these two put so much thought + love into all of the details of their day. From the photographer, Len, of I Love Wednesdays:

Kat + Seb’s wedding was a fun reflection of Seb’s French heritage and their love of vintage style — as seen in Kat’s beautiful custom designed, and 50′s inspired, powder blue gown by Sarah Alice Andrews. They also had a rather unusual wedding day, choosing to get married on a Monday to be able to get married at the French bistro where Seb proposed to Kat. They brought over all their guests to Clark Island for their ceremony with absolutely stunning views of Sydney, glasses of champagne and possibly the sweetest ceremony, with self-penned vows…

So in love with Kat’s vintage-inspired look!

Walking down the aisle together as partners and equals was overwhelmingly joyous. The moment of taking each others hands and starting on that journey was unforgettable. Then seeing our family and friends so happy for us - it was like a tidal wave of emotion! It took a few moments and some calming words from our celebrant, Chris, to come back down to earth so we could recite our vows.

Sometimes in weddings there’s little moments that create such incredibly memories and during their ceremony Kat couldn’t get the ring on to Seb’s finger. Struggling and giggling with it, Kat finally got it on and exclaimed “GOTCHA!” making for a moment that everyone talked about.

Free yourself from the pressure of perfection - from meeting other peoples expectations, to having every detail loaded with meaning. Let yourself just enjoy the process.

And one little tip for the reception: we had a spare seat at each table, so we could sit somewhere different for each course. It was so nice to be amongst our guests, rather than at a head table. Highly recommend this approach!
