Jon Klassen’s I Want My Hat Back is one of my favorite books to read to Sienna, so when I saw this ridiculously sweet styled elopement pop into my inbox, I have to say, I was super excited to share it with you all! While this shoot is only loosely based on the story, I’m convinced it will seriously inspire any of you who are planning an elopement or vow renewal. Imagine a beautiful, relaxed day slowly unfolding + filled with charming, yet simple, details: a hand-tied wildflower bouquet, a ride in an old VW bus to a secluded mountain top setting and fun paper goods based on your favorite children’s book.

Big thanks to Samantha Smith Arroyo for the beautiful photography and to Virginia Smith for the planning + design. Are any of you fans of I Want My Hat Back?

If you are a fan of the book, you will recognize the sweet pup in the red hat as a nod to the book. He looks so adorable, doesn’t he?! :)

The shoot took place in the California mountain town of Idyllwild. Such a breathtaking setting, perfect for a romantic elopement.

And be sure to check out this sweet video by Arroyo Films to see even more!

Thanks so much to the following artists for creating this inspiration + sharing their talents with us today!
