Pretty Natural Loch Lomond Wedding | Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

I love it when a couple's family and friends come together to help organise their wedding day and Natalie and Ian's family did just that.

With Natalie and her mum organising the décor and Ian's mum making the beautiful wedding cake. It was a lovely touch to ask their nice and nephew to do the ceremony readings, it must have been a wonderful moment.

I so love Natalie's Muscari by Jenny Packham dress which had the most beautiful intricate detail and of course those lush blooms by I Heart Flowers.

Thanks so much to Chantal Lachance-Gibson for sharing her gorgeous imagery with us today.

The Planning Process... The venue is where it all began - Ian and I got engaged at in August 2011 and started looking at venues almost immediately. We looked at several locations, Glasgow, Bathgate, Bishopton just to name a few. I had my heart set on Loch Lomond as it's just too beautiful to resist!! And we have spent quite some time there together as a couple. We came across The Cruin by chance after visiting another venue in the area. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the setting was AMAZING, and the food of course. This is also when Ian changed his mind from suits to Kilts. Once the venue was booked the dress was next! All the other bits and pieces came nearer the time - I discovered during this process how unorganised I am although everything came together amazing well so could have been a case of bride panic!

The Flowers... I had about 10 different consultations with florists and just couldn't find what I wanted THEN I had a look at I Heart Flowers blog and loved everything I seen! It was 5 weeks before the wedding before we had our 1st meeting and after a chat and a look at some of Sophie's work I knew exactly what I wanted. The bouquets were stunning with a mix of colours and different types of flowers. Sophie is such a lovely girl who is willing to accommodate whatever you require as best as she can.

The Cake... Ian's mum made our cake. She worked hard for months (with a bride that's last minute with everything) practising different types of decoration etc. until I finally decided what sort of cake I wanted. It was a lovely contribution from Geraldine and again another lovely personal touch to our wedding - she loved every minute of it. It also tasted beautiful. It had three tiers and each tier was a different flavour. Ian chose cherry and almond I chose chocolate and we had one plain sponge tier.

Seeing each other for the first time that day, finally saying I do after the long wait, the great feeling of having all our nearest and dearest around us, kissing for the first time and just loving every minute of everything that was going on. A special moment for both of us was seeing Ian's granddad in a kilt. At 79 he had never worn a kilt and swore not to wear one but surprised us both on the day. I also loved the morning while getting ready with my Mum, Dad and bridesmaids - we all had so much fun! My dad was a little apprehensive to join us in the lodge and thought he would leave us girls to it but we were all having so much fun that he forgot to have his 'Dad Chat' with Ian, lucky for him eh!
