Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Wedding Inspiration

If you've seen the latest Katy Perry video ("This is How We Do"), you know that our favorite 80′s icon Pee-Wee Herman is making a comeback! :) Here at GWS we strongly believe that inspiration truly can be found anywhere, and the creatives behind today's styled shoot prove just how true that statement really is. Inspired by the quirky 1980′s film Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Rodeo & Co. Photography + Valley Flower Company set up shop on the pretty grounds of Vermont's Camp Ohana + staged the most fun environment, filled with color, whimsy, and plenty of playful geometric touches...

Says Meg of Rodeo & Co., We wanted to highlight the quirkiness of Pee-Wee's world, while showcasing the underline mid-century vibe used throughout the movie. With a strong emphasis on graphic shapes and bold colors, and masculine touches, we focused on Pee-Wee's OCD qualities; which allowed for a very clean and approachable version of a visually over-the-top movie. Crisp men's suiting fabric was used as table linens and napkins were tied into Pee-Wee's iconic bow tie. We crafted the graphic shapes above the breakfast display based on the classic Finnish craft called himmeli, and were hung in homage to the shapes seen on all the signage used throughout the movie. The brides dress was also an homage to the graphic shapes seen throughout the movie.

We seriously adore this colorful, garden-style bouquet! Valley Flower Company went with a quirky color palette to match the film's original movie poster and worked her magic so that the florals felt both feminine + bright and friendly.

Dogs + dinos for the win!

Such a cheerful table!

A to Z Cakes made the amazing sculpted cake, which was based on the opening breakfast scene of the movie!

Well that was a breath of fresh air, right?! Such a fun shoot, sure to inspire all of you who love color as much as us + the talented team below! Thanks, guys! :)
