After the wonderful engagement session of Sarah and Shaun this morning, we're super happy to show off their styled elopement in the stunning Scottish Highlands with Taylor & Porter Photographs. With elegant florals from The Bloomery, delicate calligraphy from La Happy and stunning gowns from Romona Keveza and Claire Pettibone, it was a dream to work with Sarah and Shaun to create a special day in Scotland for them. Having them find all their elopement vendors through Wedding Sparrow was a dream come true for us and we wish them every happiness!

From the bride, Sarah: "The Scottish Highlands is nature at its rawest, untainted beauty. We wanted to capture some moments together in a place that would remind us of love that is carefree, bold and endearing through all weathers, even the heaviest storms..."

We were inspired by the styled pre-wedding film photography shoots we had read about all over WeddingSparrow! They were refreshing compared to the usual studio photoshoots quite popular in our part of the world and we thought, "what could be a better place than Scotland!". We wanted to capture a two main elements of the Scottish Highlands- elegant castles and the rustic wilderness and found them to be perfectly amalgamated at Inverlochy Castle Hotel at Fort William. Located near the foot of Ben Nevis, we had stunning views of the tallest peak in Scotland and the castle also had its own private wood and lake! We felt so blessed to be able to shoot at this romantic venue. Sara is THE person to go to for a styled shoot- she's resourceful, creative, efficient and hardworking- a true professional wedding stylist. We valued most her ability to transform the ideas we had in our minds into reality. We started planning for the shoot 4 months ago with just a few favourite colours and flowers in our heads, but Sara was able to develop such premature ideas into true masterpieces over time, offering only the best of her creativity to ensure that our shoot was a success. We didn't have to worry about anything- she booked our accommodation, managed the various rentals and props, we just sat back and smiled for the camera. Sophie, our florist, had the ultimate green fingers. She worked on the flowers all day while we were shooting, making garlands for the car and our boat! We love the colour palatte she put together, it was so bold and warm, just right for summer! We had an A-team who worked so hard to make our photoshoot a success- it's a blessing to be able to completely trust them to know what works best for us, and it did. Scotland is an understated country full of beautiful landmarks that will make awesome photographs, we certainly recommend giving it a shot! We were very fortunate with the weather as it did not rain at all, but the skies can get cloudy (or sunny) quite quickly within the day, so be prepared to be always on the move for opportunistic shots! If we had to do it all over again, we would still use the same vendors and choose film photography to have the best photos to look back on.
