WWW readers Tanya and Stuart tied the knot on the 1st August 2014 at Winters Barns in Kent. Their theme for the day was flowers. An abundance of home grown white floral beauties were arranged throughout their wedding. From Hydrangeas to Gyspsphila they looked stunning.

Tanya donned a stunning lace gown with lace edged veil while Stuart wore a grey three piece suit with colour pop blue tie. Oh so chic.

THE PROPOSAL | 1st engagement back in 1984 when both 18yrs and 1st loves, didn't quite make it. Many years later on Boxing Day 2013 on bended knee with his Mum and daughter looking on I said yes once again.

THE VISION | In one word 'Flowers', this was going to be achieved by the bride's Dad potting up 20 tubs of white flowers followed by 4 hanging baskets, all grown at home and many, many trips to the Wholesaler's for the choosing of white flowers including Casa lillies, gladioli, hydrangeas ,roses, gyp, alstroemeria & green foliage.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Once the venue was decided we visited wedding fayres and got some background on the wedding suppliers, and as all brides know what you thought you wanted changes i.e. I wasn't going to have a photographer until I met Alex. Mother of the bride went on line and sourced wedding invitations, table planner/names and menus so we could make our own touch and also to personalise it. My auntie and her friends were asked to organise the flowers as between them as they have done the Chelsea Flower Show, Canterbury Cathedral and various other venues. So we knew they were in good hands.

THE VENUE | The Groom choose the venue for it's simplicity and WOW factor. He wanted something that meant something to both of us, so that's why we choose Winters Barns at Canterbury, Kent; this is the town we both grew up in and still have family and friends living there today.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | This was simple from day one, always wanted a fitted dress (age appropriate as I would be 46yrs) and I remember going to Italy on my 40th and we were in a village and I remember seeing a bride walk out of the church in a lace fitted dress with her hair down, and if I was going to be lucky enough to get married again that's of my idea of the bride I planned on being.

This was simple if it was going to be about the lace dress the accessories were going to have to be very elegant and low key. However the veil I never thought I was going to have turned out to be everything a bride could wish for edged in lace that matched the dress.

As for the shoes, three pairs later, I found the perfect pair on a Saturday afternoon shopping trip.

FINDING THE DRESS | I was lucky enough at the 1st bridal fair we visited I met the lovely ladies of Signature Brides in Hythe, Kent. Looking at their styles and designers they stocked I knew I would find the right dress for me.

I didn't want it to be that I was going to so many different Bridal Shops I would get more confused with all the different styles that were our there.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | This was simple, one shop two suits later the groom and his son the best man had found the perfect suit, although the father of the bride was a little bit more complex as he also had an idea of what he wanted to wear. The grooms suit was a three piece, bluey grey with cobalt blue tie and hankie.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | This was simple as the groom Stuart's late Grandad loved Nat King Cole he chose 'when I fall in love' sung by our wedding singer 'Peter Dinsley' for Tanya and her Dad to walk down the pathway. The music for the rest of the Ceremony when signing the register was chosen when we sat down one afternoon and listened to the words of many love songs to see which ones related to us. We ended up with 'El Divo', James Blunt 'She's Beautiful', Whitney Houston ' I believe in you and me'. Elle Golding 'Stars' and to walk back up the pathway as Man and Wife Diana Ross/Lionel Ritchie singing 'Endless Love'. Our wedding singer Peter sang also while the canapés were being served before the ceremony and after, during the wedding breakfast and part of the evening, then it followed with more evening music, which was an eighties school disco as Stuart and Tanya met at school.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I was very lucky to have a beautiful step daughter from this marriage Harriett, so she was always going to be my one and only bridesmaid. The dress and accessories were all her own choice.

THE FLOWERS | was always going to play a big part in the wedding as they were also the vision for the wedding. Everything white and lots of them. We were lucky enough for Winters Barns to allow us to visit the venue from the Tuesday before the wedding and this is where we stayed setting up the flowers. As you can gather four days of my Auntie and friends setting up displays of flowers, it was a big job to do. Winters Barns not seen anything like it before.

THE CAKE | It started off with a mock-up of four cardboard boxes painted white by the bride's father Barry in four different sizes with flower oasis in between each box, these were covered in Gyp so we could get an idea of the height/size of the cake. Still wanted to give more height so we sat it on tea light holders which gave us the height we needed. Now we needed to find the cake which we purchased from 'Marks & Spencer' wedding cakes, plain white square cake with white satin ribbon and we finished it off with crystal embellishment on the front of each tier plus a single rose on top to finish the cake off. It looked amazing when finished.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Well what can we say, I wasn't going to have one, don't like my picture being taken and all the posing. So right up until approx. 6wks before the wedding this was still happening. At a chance meeting at a wedding fayre in Ashford we came across Alex Tenters, we were just being nosy and walking around the room when we stopped and looked at other wedding photos of the weddings he had done. I said they were lovely and if I was going to have a photographer I would choose him. I explained that I wasn't but when we left he said that he would love to do the wedding and was free on that day and gave my Mum his business card.

As the days went by I then got a phone call from my Mum saying that I had to have a photographer as it was such a special day to remember the photographs would be something we could look back on so with this Alex was booked for the day on strict instructions to make the photographs as informal as possible which they were.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Table decorations i.e. place settings/menu cards/table names were kept to a minimum as I wanted the look of simplicity, the venue was decorated with flower arrangements and various heart shape figures which were mostly brought for me by my father over the years which I cherish.

THE HONEYMOON | This is yet to be enjoyed as unfortunately the bride's passport was caught up in the passport fiasco in the Summer, but we are pleased to say with the amazing generosity of our wedding guests we have be able to book a honeymoon in Sorrento Italy for our joint/1st anniversary/honeymoon in 2015.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | As a surprise to the groom and his family my parents booked a Mark II Jaguar Car 1968 for him and his son and mother to be taken to the venue. The best bit was that the car was going to meet him at his sister's house where he was getting ready with his family around him, this meant so much as it was the car that his grandad used to have when Stuart was a little boy and has pictures with him standing next to the car. Stuart has gone on to make a career in cars.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | At the beginning it seems such a very long time away but it soon comes round, so don't leave things until the last minute. And remember it is the best day of your life so just try and take it all in and enjoy it. It really is a day to remember!!
