We're big fans of girl talk. From boys and shoes to makeup and nails, we'll indulge in some feminine banter all day long. So, we obviously jump on any opportunity to gab about the things we love most. Recently, we seized the opportunity to chat with one of our fabulous contributors about one of our favorite topics: nails. Celeb nail artist Kait Mosh stopped by the MDC headquarters and did a little live Q&A session on our Instagram account. Lots of you tuned in and asked some great questions about nail care, mani tips and nail trends. For those of you who missed it, we don't want you to feel like you were denied valuable nail advice, so we're bringing you the highlights of our super-informative chat! Check it out!

On the Million Dollar Question: Are Gel Manicures Bad for Your Nails?

According to Kait, gels are really only bad if you remove them incorrectly by scraping or peeling them off. "For tips on gentle, at-home gel removal, check out this great how to from nail artist Steph Stone on her YouTube Channel," Kait advises.

On How to Grow Long and Strong Nails ...

"Keep the skin around the nail moisturized and healthy," advised Mosh. "Finding a great nail protein formula is key to nail growth too! Essie makes a great protein-based base coat, First Base, that's perfect for promoting long, healthy nails! You can also try colorless iodine. Put one drop on each nail daily for two weeks. This has been a tried-and-true method with my clients."

On How to Make Your Manicure Last ...

"Apply top coat to your manicure every other day," advised Mosh. "This will also help keep your mani looking shiny and beautiful."

On the Best Trends and Looks for Spring ...

"Pastel neons are great for spring," said Mosh. I'm currently wearing Lilacism from essie. (In terms of shape) almond-shaped nails are still in, but nails are definitely getting shorter and more natural-looking."

On How to Dry Nail Polish Fast ...

"I like the combo of a quick-dry top coat and quick-dry drops," said Mosh. "Essie makes the Quick-e drying drops that work great!"
