The Best Pink Makeup for Fair Skin Tones

via

We think it's a fair assumption to say that we love pink. It goes without saying this means we love pink makeup (because, duh, Makeup.com, right?). Unfortunately, for fair-skinned gals, the wrong shade of pink can wash you out and unintentionally turn you into Casper the Friendly Ghost (still totally cute though). But, let's be honest - that's not exactly the look we're going for. Still, if you think pink makeup wasn't made for your fair skin tone, you'd be wrong. Pink is every girl's friend - you just have to make sure you're pairing up with the right hue.

Sweet Pink Cheeks

So, your skin already has a hint of pink to it and you're afraid that a bright blush will only make it look like you're mad crushing on everyone around you. Definitely not the case (unless, of course, everyone around you is cute) because a pop of color on your cheeks will make you look ... well, healthy and alive! Of course, you don't want to go too bright and be mistaken as the main attraction at a child's birthday party (ahem, the clown). While pink will brighten up your complexion and give you a natural-looking flush, let's keep it soft and sheer. Think baby pinks, peachy-pinks, and pink with coral undertones - with a slightly shimmery finish (not necessary, but highly recommended as this adds to your fair, ethereal glow).

Having fair skin doesn't exclude you from joining the pink lipstick club. Not rocking this shade should seriously be illegal - and yes, pink lippies CAN wash you out, but that's only if you're picking up the wrong shade. If you're looking for something that will really stand out (in a flattering way, of course) try a hot pink lipstick with rosy-undertones or for a softer approach, try a pink with fuchsia or lilac notes. Sheer pinks, glossy pinks and coral pinks offer up just enough pigment to make your pout stand out, while still giving off a subtle and natural appearance.

Pretty Pink Peepers

Your cheeks and lips shouldn't have all the fun - pink shadow is a great way to play up your eyes for a day-or-night look. Pink doesn't necessarily have to be as bright as can be (although it certainly can be!), so for a work-appropriate look, rock a matte pink with taupe undertones on your upper lid ONLY and create some dimension with brown eyeliner to prevent eyes from looking ... well, weird or pinkeye-like. Shimmery pinks with peach or coral hues also look bright and luminous against your fair skin tone. Just pair them with a fierce cat eye and you'll be ready to party with the gals!
