DIY Edible Vineyard Wedding Favours

DIY Edible Vineyard Wedding Favours

So a couple of months ago, we featured a roundup of DIY Edible Autumn Favours and it went down like an extra scoop of hot chocolate ice cream sauce (the Bar One kind, because YUM). And if that analogy hasn't got your mouth watering a bit, then today's roundup definitely will. I'm a huge fan of edible favours, because they're often easy (and fun) to DIY and customise the packaging to your wedding design, but more importantly, they get left behind or thrown away a lot less than other favours. And after all, the whole point of the things is for your guests to enjoy them. Vineyard weddings are very much a food-lover's type of experience, and so it makes sense for you to give your guests some kind of wine-related edible favour. Now, of course, wine is itself a great option as a guest gift, but today we're going to focus on the kinds of goodies that match well with a glass of wine, so your friends and family can reflect and remember your big day on their own afterwards when they enjoy them.

1. Olive oil and wine go hand in hand, so infused olive oil is often suggested as a favour for vineyard weddings and there are tons of gorgeous DIY tutorials online - this happens to be one of my faves. It's easy, it's pretty, and if your guests are anything like me, they'll thank you for it! By Avery via Style Me Pretty (pic by Ruth Eileen)

2. The perfect companion to olive oil? Why, vinegar of course. And you can infuse that with rosemary too!
3. Serve these olive & rosemary mini loaves as part of your meal (instead of a bread roll or basket perhaps), or wrap them up in cheesecloth and twine and send guests home with them. Gorgeous. By Pinecone Camp

4. Send your tastebuds straight to Italy with these little vials of Tuscan spice mix which are also super budget friendly. Guests can use them to season their dishes or just sprinkle in olive oil and dip bread into it - yum! By Something Turquoise (pic by Mike Carreiro Photography)
5. We did rosemary salt favours for my mum's 30th, and they were pretty and useful, but I just love the sound of these lavender and lemon sea salt gifts! Printable labels are included, or just design your own, then buy little wooden scoops very inexpensively and tie one to each jar for added pretty power. By Pepper Design Blog

6. I did a chocolate and wine tasting once and the sea salt chocolate was by far the nicest with a good glass of red. So this chocolate almond bark with sea salt would be delicious! By Bon Appetit via Epicurious (pic by Diane Fields)

7. Sometimes it's not just about what you drink with wine, but HOW you drink the wine. And mulled spices always make a wintery glass of red even better! By Chelsea Foy via Swooned
8. Wine gum lollipops. Best favour EVER. By Sprinkle Bakes

9. Cheese and crackers are the perfect pairing for wine, and they also make an adorable little snack pack for your guests - this tutorial includes the cute little stickers. By Martha Stewart Weddings
10. You don't get more South African than chutney, so why not send your guests home with jars of homemade goodness? Try this recipe from Yuppiechef. Jam Jar favour labels by Elli

11. Nuts are another great snack to have with wine, and these spiced pecans sound like the business! Plus, bonus, they'll be easy to package, whatever your wedding style. ByAlton Brown via Food Network

12. Trust me, once you've had homemade grissini (breadsticks) you'll never go back to shop-bought. And serve cones of these parmesan grissini to your guests and I'll be amazed if there's any more than crumbs by the time they get home! By Country Living (pic by Catherine Gratwicke)
13. Not only are stuffed olives completely delicious, but did you know they were pretty easy to DIY? Perfect combination. By Evermine Occasions

14. Artisan savoury crackers are a great choice for a favour - you can always buy these, but with flavours like walnut parmesan, gouda with poppy & sesame, and chili cheddar cornmeal, they sound too delicious not to make yourself. Put a few in a little box and tie them up with ribbon, then instruct your guests to just add cheese! By Country Living (pic by Jose Picayo)
15. Lavender is often seen in vineyards, so it's the perfect complement to a vineyard wedding. Lavender macarons? Yes please. Lavender & pistachio macarons? Even better!
