Colorful Bohemian "Beachlorette" Brunch

For those of us who love to entertain, we say thank goodness there are so many fun, little events leading up to the wedding day! So, when your best friend gets engaged, it's time to put some of those event daydreams and Pinterest boards into action and bring to life a stylish bridal shower or brunch in her honor!

That's exactly what cinematographer, Dana, from Between Sleep and Awake did when she planned this seriously amaze bohemian "beachlorette" brunch on the Jersey Shore for her best pal, Chelsie. Dana teamed up with the planning + design team at Gilded Lily Events to bring this fun celebration to life and tells us, Long before my best friend, Chelsie, was even officially engaged, I knew I wanted to throw her a brunch. I'm a wedding cinematographer and Chelsie herself is a photographer, so we both had high expectations for this day to say the least! After months of day-dreaming, the day finally came on a perfect day in July last year. It was an intimate group of only 10 girls. We started off with grapefruit mimosas and after a relaxing morning of opening gifts + brunching, we headed off to the beach. It was wonderful! My husband and I have spent the last few years converting our old, crusty garage, into a greenhouse-meets-party space.

Chelsie's favorite flower, lavender, was spread throughout the day from the invitations to the greenhouse. Her love of tattoos came through the "favors" of watercolor Tattly tattoos, one of my favorite parts! These even matched the style of the invitations, which were custom painted by MaryKate Moon. Gilded Lily Events did a wonderful job using her goodies at Dovetail Vintage Rentals (umm, that peacock chair?!) and pulled everything together.
