Love, Light and Lace ♥

Oh my! I'm a huge fan of gorgeous outdoor garden weddings, so I think we've possible just found the most gorgeous garden wedding venue in Johannesburg - Shepstone Gardens! The trees, the light-filled ceremony venue, the gardens. WOW! Highschool sweethearts, and Alberton locals, Newton and Caitlin, were married in Johannesburg Wedding at Shepstone Gardens this summer in a light-filled ceremony too beautiful for words. South African bride Caitlin knew she wanted an elegant wedding with a classic feel, inspired by lace and we love how she incorporated the delicate patterning of lace into her decor by using doily confetti holders, doily seating charts and doily rose holders along the aisle. Their flowers were set in shades of soft pink and green which were brought out in the bridesmaids dresses.

"Our wedding day was really special. We were both calm and excited at the same time," shares Caitlin." The weather held out for us in the morning, but started raining after the ceremony. The weather was not expected at all, but just added to the memories of our day. Newton's father officiated the ceremony, which was very special."

Love Story: We met at school in Grade 6, and eventually became friends in our last year of school. We started dating in our first year of varsity and knew very soon that we were meant to be together! After 5 years of dating, Newton proposed to me on a rooftop in Joburg overlooking the city! It was absolutely breathtaking and a moment I will never forget!

• On the day, make sure you take a moment to take in everything that you have planned for and enjoy seeing it all come to life.
• Try and do some of the decor yourself, it feels like you've put part of yourself into your special day.
