International Saturday is upon us already and this week we head to Stockholm for Karin and Khashayar’s engagement shoot.

There is nothing more romantic then a rainy cosy winters day with your loved one. I love the pretty backdrop of Stockholm and just how wrapped up in each other Karin and Khashayar are.

“Sometimes little love stories grow and evolve through time.

There is something mystical about old cobble streets, little medieval alleyways and a wealth of history Gamla Stan (Old Town) offers, in Stockholm. Karin and Khashayar are both raised in this fantastic City and it was such a privilege to be working in such momentous location with very cool history as backdrop.

Karin and Khashayar were planning a lovely relaxed summer wedding in the stunning Stockholm archipelago. Their wedding plans were literally based on friends and family having a great time – a brilliant and very refreshing way of planning a good party!

Whilst their wedding was planned for a beautiful hot Swedish summer’s day, their engagement shoot was all about what Sweden is really known for – the cold weather! We were hoping for a white winter wonderland day, full of snow and mischief. We met at Slussen station, a nice way of getting great views and soak it all in as a perfect start to our little adventure. As we worked through the alleyways, jumped on the cobbled streets trying to not fall on the slippery rain soaked stones we stopped where we wished to capture the moment. Both were in their elements throughout the session, appreciating their City whilst enjoying each other’s company.

Karin and Khashayar met whilst studying at Chalmers University of Technology and a strong friendship evolved and as with time, their love grew. They’ve been together ever since leading busy lives but taking time to travel together, exploring and enjoying their lives in Stockholm.

As our session came to an end we all agreed that our bellies were delighted with the fika (the Swedish expression for having cake and coffee indulgence), we had taken in sights we had seen many times before but happily rediscover again and again and we had got to know each other and enjoyed the conversation in between the moments. All in all a successful City engagement session!”
