Todays Costa Blanca Wedding is such a treat to share and we are sure it's one that will make you want to pack your bags and head off on holidays. Like most romances, (including my own!) Norwegian couple, Veronica and Einar were friends for years before getting it together and while on holiday in Dubai, Einar popped the big question walking through the Gold Souks. Being so well travelled, it was no surprise to their family and friends when they decided to have a destination wedding and Costa Blanca with it's beautiful rough terrain and picture perfect seascapes it was. Captured to perfection, we are so excited to share their stunning wedding with photography by Megan of Bikini Birdie. If you have time later, you might also want to check our this beauty by Megan from last year, but for now, prepare to be swept off your feet.

We didn't really face any major problems while planning our wedding but it proved wise to be aware of the cultural differences between Norway and Spain. In Spain, the don't pay much attention to detail while planning and it doesn't matter if things don't turn out just as you planned. For example, we got a different wedding car to what was actually booked. We also planned on having the wedding ceremony outside in the palm garden, but the weather turned very hot and we were encouraged to move it inside - and were happy we did!The wedding dinner was held at a local restaurant with a designated patio for our party. We had traditional Spanish food with tapas as the starter. It is also very common to have fireworks at weddings in Spain and the restaurant owner arranged that for us. It was a great surprise for our guests. A couple of days before the wedding we hired a wonderful guitar player that we heard playing in the streets. By far, the best decision we made was to have our wedding in Spain and have everyone stay for an entire week. We rented apartments for almost everyone in the same building and hosted BBQs so that we could gather around the common pool. Some of our guests live far away from us, so being able to spend the week with everyone was great. Our friends' kids loved it too!"
Our wedding didn't have a theme as we just wanted to keep it clean, simple and not too formal. When I found my cute bridal shoes in a small shop in Altea, they inspired the one little detail we used on the invitations and menus; a butterfly. Colour wise, we chose white and green, with white flowers and green leaves.

From the Bride;
"Einar and I met through friends in Oslo. We knew each other for a few years before we became a couple. We are both quite happy arranging trips and events and had arranged several ski trips to the Swiss Alps together as friends. After getting engaged in the middle of the gold souk in Dubai, we had decided early into our engagement that we wanted a small wedding with just our closest family and friends. We figured that it would be just as easy to "defend" that decision if we went abroad to get married. We have travelled quite a bit together and so it didn't come as a surprise that we chose to get married in Spain as well.
Altea in Spain was our only destination option. My family has travelled there quite a bit and we have a holiday flat there. There is alos a Norwegian Church in Altea so it made the legal part of our wedding very easy.
