Making a mug personal by writing your name on it, as in His+Her Mug project, is an easy way to show others that the mug is your property. You can also write a motto or a sentence that will emphasize the personality of the owner.

But don't forget, it's not only words that speak. We express ourselves in facial expressions, movements or even the color of clothes we wear. So if you want to mark your mug (I think it's like showing the boundaries of your territory) you can use a color.
