Typically when one thinks of a wedding you picture; sunshine, warm weather and a long light filled evening. There are a great many couples, however, that picture their dream day taking place in the snow. Winter is a beautiful though often overlooked wedding season. The coziness of a fire crackling in the hearth during your ceremony, dreamy pictures of the happy couple walking in the snow...it's pretty romantic. The tricky part of planning a winter wedding is how to bring in colors that aren't too, well, holiday. There are so many beautiful winter flowers to use to create a color story that will add visual interest and texture to bouquets and on the tables. Some of my favorite flowers for winter celebrations are Anemones, Cotton, Lilies, Eucalyptus and Ranuncluses. These flowers are all beautiful as stand alone flowers but combined have a soft dreamy quality that encapsulates a winter wedding. Flowers are just such a beautiful way to help create the day of your dreams and winter flowers are no exception!
