We're going all glamorous this afternoon with WWW readers Hannah and Phil, who were married over the Easter weekend back in April. They went for a divine Champagne gold colour scheme, complete with maids in multi-way dresses and chevron sequin tablecloths alongside sweet Easter nest favours.

The fun atmosphere was aided by a casino, photo booth and cheeky aprons at the reception. There was also a nod to their love of travel with the stationery and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a pretty epic cake creation.

THE PROPOSAL | We had saved up for a big splurge holiday to Mexico which happened to coincide with my birthday. About half way through the holiday we went on a pirate ship cruise, it was absolutely beautiful, out in the Caribbean sea watching the sun go down, we aren't normally soppy romantics but Phil got down on one knee and proposed.

Unfortunately my first reaction was to laugh (a lot) as those of you who know boats will understand how deep the steps are - he barely came up to my knee and in combination with the surprise I just couldn't stop laughing! Hopefully you will see from our photos this is something that we do as a couple a lot and actually made it all the more perfect. So through streams of tears and laughter I (obviously) said yes. Our parents also feature in this proposal as Phil had told them what he was planning to do they decided to organise an amazing surprise engagement party for when we got home, truly the icing on the cake!

THE VISION | To incorporate all of our favourite things and have lots of fun!

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We booked our venue very quickly. We aren't a religious couple and the formality of a hall or big house just didn't suit us. Shustoke Farm barns just felt right, it was the first venue we saw. We loved the look of the barns and the food looked amazing! We quickly found HBA photography on their recommendation. I cannot recommend then highly enough! The pictures speak for themselves but the stop motion is what we particularly loved. WWW and Pinterest became my best friends for the rest of the planning process, I created boards for different elements to try and gather my ideas for décor and then used a wedding app for budgets, table plans and sorting out the guest list. We also used gettingmarried.co.uk for guests to RSVP too and was really helpful for sorting out peoples meal choices. I was studying a masters qualification whilst planning the wedding so things like this whist not the cheapest were a godsend as they saved me so much time.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Intuzuri Bhamini, shoes from Next (not glamorous but I love to dance and wanted something I could wear all night! These were the most comfortable ones I tried on and only £25 - bargain)

FINDING THE DRESS | I was nervous about going into glamorous boutiques mainly because I was scared they would give me a £2000 dress which I simply couldn't afford! But Isaac Charles Bridal House in Birmingham were amazing. They made me feel completely comfortable, the store is gorgeous and they give you a form so you can indicate your budget. They then only show you dresses which you can afford - massive relief! My dress was actually an ex sample so I got a brilliant price for it.

As most brides seem to say, my dress ended up being NOTHING like I had planned in my head. I wanted a high neck A line dress with floral details and at the time was thinking of a more rustic theme. The dress changed all of that. On the shops recommendation they got me to try on a fishtail dress which I thought I could never pull off, it was the first one my mum cried seeing and I knew that had to be the one. The dress came with a removable 'dress veil' so I could have lots of drama in the day and then take it off in the evening. I absolutely adore it and felt really special on the day.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Because my dress became a bit more glam and we had decided on a casino table (Phil dream had been to have his stag do in Vegas - it ended up being Benidorm!!!) in the evening we ended up going for tuxedos which I think all the boys looked very dapper in. We hired them from Slater which partner with Isaac Charles so we got 10% off!

THE READINGS & MUSIC | I walked down the aisle to A Thousand Years covered by The Piano Guys. Our first dance was Your My Best Friend but covered by a band called The Once. We had a gorgeous reading called Congratulations which my best friend and chief bridesmaid read.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | All 6 of them and a flower girl!!! I know, it's a lot ;) but it was sort of unavoidable. My best friend during the planning process was living in Africa so I called on my amazing friends from Uni to help too and we come as a set - better known as 'the grannies'. They all wore infinitely dresses I found from Etsy, The shop was called the dainty yard and the colour is light taupe.

THE FLOWERS | We knew quickly where we would get the flowers from - Pollen Floral Joy, a friend had not long started a flower business and is absolutely amazing. Judith is a delight to work with and was very patient with my indecision!! We decided (eventually) on really bright spring flowers to contrast with the neutral bridesmaid dresses and play up the Easter theme.

THE CAKE | One of the bridesmaids mum's made it for us. We had three different flavours of Madeira cake - Phil's favourite! We also challenged her to have ago at making the middle layer look like gold sequins which tied in with the glittering invites, table runners and my shoes! She did a fantastic job and the cake was gorgeous.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | HBA Photography, Hannah and Ben are amazing. We honestly couldn't recommend them highly enough. They are lovely to have around but discreet so you forget they are taking photos - something which both Phil and I tend to shy away from. They managed to make us feel completely comfortable and I think that shows in the photos. We also opted for a stop motion film, which I can't stop playing! It makes me so happy every time I watch it and captured the day perfectly.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We got married on the Thursday of Easter weekend so we wanted to give a nod to Easter without it being to over the top. I found little birds' nests on ebay and used them as place settings along with name cards from Marie Curie who I support though my work for the NHS.

We had a travel theme for the tables with a home made Map table plan, each table was named after a place we have been away together and my favourite thing we did was make our own vintage poster postcards. This was as an alternative to a guest book. We asked each guest to give us an idea for a date/activity/or adventure. It worked out so well and we have some lovely ideas and messages!

I became a bit obsessed with champagne gold (very similar to the bridesmaid dresses) and chevrons during the planning process so we ending up with sparkly chevron invites and table runners, string and even the cake we tried to match up!

Carrying on with the 'all of our favourite things' theme we had a home made dessert table in the evening which each of the bridesmaids, mums and I made cakes for. Phil bought Krispy Kreme doughnuts as his contribution ;) and my brother made up a sweet buffet.

I love to dance but knew its not everyone's cup of tea so we hired a casino table and we also constructed a home made photo booth. We using a Polaroid camera with lots of fancy dress as props and used pom poms as a back drop. It was great fun!

THE HONEYMOON | A month long trip around Brazil and Argentina! It was AMAZING! Most memorably we visited Rio, the Amazon and Iguazu falls. It really was a trip of a lifetime.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | How do you pick one! Probably giving out the aprons for the different carvers at dinner, it was a great talking point and got everyone laughing.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Don't put pressure on yourselves to get everything perfect. The little things you notice aren't quite right no one else will have a clue! Have fun and definitely have a moment with your partner to yourselves.

Brides get your dress first I was surprised how much it set the theme for the rest of the day.
