Small, Yet Super Stylish Wedding in Australia

Small, Yet Super Stylish Wedding in Australia

via

Australian weddings are always among our favourite to feature on the blog, and today's intimate bash is no different.

Scott & Kaitlin got married in the beachside Sydney suburb of Cronulla, with a romantic ceremony overlooking the sea, and a chic, yet simple restaurant reception.

Beautiful, stylish, and entirely laid back, weddings like theirs are exactly why we think Aussie brides and grooms are so effortlessly cool.

And we're so excited to share their fabulous photographs by Zee & Cee Photography and film by Capture Creative.

With the help of Fleur My Darling, Kaitlin & Scott had a wedding day with a clean and modern take on organic, rustic style.

Pretty floral adornments, simple table decor, and handmade signage added lots of personal touches.

The bridal party seriously brought it in the style stakes, with Kaitlin in a contemporary Carla Zampatti gown, bold lip and white flower crown, joined by her sister, in a blush Sheike pencil dress, and Scott and his guys, holding their own in grey Rembrandt suits.

But what we love most about this wedding, is not the awesome attire or the gorgeous styling, (though those are pretty special!) it's that Kaitlin & Scott chose to celebrate their big day with the people who mattered most to them.

Just 26 of their very closest friends and family - how sweet is that?

Our Love Story

I'm a hairdresser and Scott is a firefighter. Marriage is a commitment to be willing to do whatever it takes to make the marriage work. So for me, that means letting him think he's right (even when you know he isn't), letting him open a jar that you know you can open to make him feel big and strong, and cleaning the house before he comes home so he thinks you're wife of the year. Scott came into my salon in his formal fire fighter attire. I was very lucky to find the dress of my dreams. I had always wanted a very classic dress that was not over the top. One day, while browsing on Facebook, photos of my friend's sister's wedding came up. Her dress was extremely simple and elegant she looked flawless! Straight away I wanted to know where the dress was from. I contacted the friend and she told me it was from Carla Zampatti. I looked it up and found it straight away. I told my mum and sister that I wanted them to come with me so I could try it on. My sister said it wouldn't suit me as I have curves and the model was extremely skinny. After admitting she was probably right I forgot about the dress and tried to find something else (with no luck). I was in Melbourne last Christmas, my mum, Nanna and I decided to go to the Boxing Day sales. After randomly finding our way into the designer section of David Jones, I saw the beautiful Carla Zampatti dress from the Facebook photo staring at me! I tried it on straight away and it fit me like a glove! I knew that this was meant to be and the search for my dress was over! He took my hands, got on his knee and asked me to marry him. We had always loved the rustic theme and we knew it would suit us. I had always wanted to wear a flower crown and that helped to set the theme.

The Dress

The Inspiration

We wanted to have a very small intimate wedding (26 guests). Summer Salt were very accommodating and we loved the food and location! Small weddings are a great idea - We got to spend the whole day with the people we love the most!

Dean from Zee & Cee Photography, we felt so comfortable with. He didn't make the photos feel awkward or staged, everything was so natural. Aaron from Capture Creative, we didn't even know he was there and the video is more than we could have ever hoped for! I wasn't going to get a video originally but it was the best thing we ever did.

The Setting

On the morning while my sister and I were getting ready, the fire alarm in the hotel went off! I was really calm and said I bet this is Scott sending it to me as a sign (he's a firefighter). Luckily we didn't have to evacuate and just laughed it off!

The Photography & Videography

Luckily Fleur My Darling took care of everything. Our favourite detail was definitely the styling! Samantha was absolutely incredible she over exceeded all of my expectations, she put our personal touch on our wedding ceremony, reception lunch and on our flowers and flower crowns.
