Each summer, Designer Preview offers a sneak peek of the season to come as we send the best looks from top and emerging designers down a beautiful runway on the Seattle waterfront. But let's be clear here: This is not one of those torturous look-but-don't-touch situations.

Wine and girlfriends go so well with shopping; guests at a recent Designer Preview enjoying it all.
(Boyfriends are equally compatible; the show features men's fashion as well!)

After the show-this year's is July 28, tickets are available via our partner, Seattle Art Museum (until they sell out, that is!)-we transform the pre-show party room into one of the most amazing pop-up shops and that's when the fun really starts.

What's more: the group shopping continues in our downtown Seattle flagship on Friday, July 29, with a trunk show-like happening, where you can pore over the best current and coming-season trends one by one with your favorite salesfolks and best friends.

Let's review the important details.

      1. Indeed, after the show, the makeshift flagship allows you to try on the runway looks and place advance orders for all your favorite looks-fueled by champagne, cocktails, light bites and the enthusiasm of the runway lights. Keep in mind: that "M" word. The dressing rooms, while perfectly private and apropos, aren't exactly like those in our flagship. Some opt to use the post-show shopping experience to further get to know the pieces without making a final commitment; a sort of warmup for the trunk show on Friday. If you want to take your time to decide, you're free to. If you want to scoop up trends ahead of the game, though, we do make pre-orders effortless; they're just another element of the party.
      2. The trunk show, from 10am to 4pm, is truly a shopping experience like none other, but you should know that only a selection of the runway samples will be available that day. To augment those, we also offer a trend-centric selection of current-season pre-fall best. All of these are presented to a private audience (that's you) in a designated area of our designer collections boutique. Because it's important to keep your energy up for this pre-season, pre-sale shop-a-thon, snacks and beverages are provided and the overall mood is something akin to an old-school atelier visit mixed with a high-fashion, luxury Tupperware party. (Just imagine that!)
      3. Not only will you see your Seattle friends and neighbors, you'll get to meet, mix, mingle and trade style ideas with visiting bloggers, bold-name designers and Nordstrom shoppers from around the country. We're expecting about a hundred out-of-towners this year-just another marker of what a bona fide Big Deal this is.
